As a newbie SD owner (owned for three weeks now) I found the throttle to be brutal, difficult to hold a steady cruise and dam right annoying to ride apart from on full chat.
Reading up on here it seemed everyone recommend TuneEcu as the cure, so against my local tuners advice I took the plunge and got my self a wee cable and downloaded the "06' Smoothed map". Using TuneEcu was a joy and although the instructions weren't crystal clear, I got there in the end.
All I can say is that it was totally worth doing, the bike is much better behaved round town and in traffic. I also noticed rolling off the throttle was'nt quite as abrupt which was nice. I don't think I noticed anymore power as I think my bike was already running the OEM Akra map. The key is that is made a real world difference which can't be always said for alot of mods.
Ok its not perfect but hey if you want slickly smooth throttle go buy a Goldwing right?
I can recommend doing this mod to anyone who is thinking of doing it, turns out its not too good to be true!
I love modding bikes and want to do more so improve the way it runs, I guess the next thing to do is removal of the SAS & secondary flies?
Just wanted to give you me thoughts anyways, thanks for reading

Great job!
We keep saying it to do this about the choppy throttle but some people don't believe us.
Great to see there are some clever cookies arround that take advise.
Only thing, it is probably easier to do the mods before the map as every time you change something you might have to change the map again. (unless you want to pplay and learn. )
Check if the boxes for sai, o2 sensors are unticked in the map you loaded, I guess they are and that means they are disabled.
Anyway great bike and welcome to the madness!

Dont forget to balance the throttle bodies. Buy, beg, borrow or steal a set of vacuum gauges.
You'll be amazed at the difference this small adjustment will make to your bikes smoothness and how it puts its power down.

No need to buy any gauges for balancing your throttle body's, you can use Tune ECU.

I tried and found it a nightmare. The info doesn't refresh fast enough to feel real time. Figures jumping up and down all the time even if no changes are made. If it could display the info in a graphic that looked like a set of tubes it would be much easier. The old fashioned way seems the easiest to me.
