Ok, I am a bit torn here as I rode V-twins (ducati) forever and have to admit that I would have no problem going back to a twin. I currently own a RSV4 Factory and Tuono V4. I really like the V4 motor and the electronics on the aprilia are awesome!!! My question to the forum is, are there any members here that have done this (tuono to duke)?
I'm also eyeing an RC8R for a track bike.

Much stronger motor on the 1290 but the electronics are much more adjustable on the Tuono (plus I'm pretty sure you can sue TuneECU with the Ape? or at least buy the race ECU).
Best bet it to test ride the 1290, only real way you'll know if its for you or not.

Yep, traded the rsv4 and the dorso factory 750 and haven't looked back.
The missus still has her v4 tuono, even she says it feels old n clunky compared to the duke.
And that friggin rattle, don't miss that! In all honestly, the electronics don't even come into it. Don't miss any of the aprilia

The new Tuono is the faster bike.

I suspect that top speed advantage is due to the screen.

I think if you forget the stats like HP, Torque, 0-100 etc what matters most is the grin/hooligan factor. I bet my kidneys that anyone that has ridden the 1290r and the Tuono will say the grin/hooligan factor on the 1290r shits on the Tuono.
