I've been experimenting with something similar myself. I can get 90 octane without, and 91 with ethanol (I'm at high elevation and 93 isn't available). Bike seems to run well with both, maybe a little stronger ethanol-free?, but gets better fuel mileage (by about 3-4 mpg) when running the higher octane with ethanol. But I still run a few tanks a month ethanol free (kind of like eating fiber) My $.02

I vote neither. Have you tried the pure-gas app to find good fuel in your area? You might try fuelling at marinas that provide high octane alcohol-free gas.
