Got My Bike Back - New Engine and New Gas Tank

I just bought my bike as a new, leftover 2014 model (February 2014 build) on July 2nd. I knew of the issues with the early model bikes, but the price was $2,400 cheaper than a new one and I wanted to use the savings to put into some accessories for the bike. It came with the full warranty and I was hoping that if anything went wrong, KTM would take care of me. On my first ride, I stopped at 50 miles for a bite to eat. When I did a walk around afterwards, I noticed this...

Couldn't believe it - an oil leak through the engine cases on my first ride! I ended up cleaning it up and riding it for 600 more miles that weekend to verify that it wasn't grease from the factory and to see where the leak was coming from. I took it back to the dealer the following weekend. They put some kind of powder on it and verified the leak, then contacted KTM. They were originally going to rebuild the engine, but they ended up sending a replacement. I don't know if that was because I fussed so much about rebuilding a brand new engine or what, but was REALLY happy with the outcome. While they had the bike apart, they also checked out the tank and noticed some paint chipping away from the lower hole and sent a brand new tank! The dealer had my bike for 6 weeks! I finally got it back last Thursday. I brought it home in my truck. As I was setting things up in my garage before my first ride with the new engine, I noticed this...

Ok, the mechanic obviously loaded the Super Adventure software instead of the Super Duke software. I didn't think much about it and planned to take it the dealer to get it fixed at some point. When I left the garage, my speedometer showed "0" and my odometer didn't work. I called the dealer, rode it there, and had the correct software loaded. I've ridden it for about 300 miles now and everything seems to be good!

Bottom line, I'm extremely disappointed all of this happened on a brand new bike, but I'm really happy that KTM and the dealer stepped up to the plate and took care of things the right way.

It is the dealers fault about the "wrong" software!
All the software is the same from ADV 1050 over the other ADV's and the 1290 SDR.
The dealer need to choose the correct bike before updating the software and setting the parameters.
If the dealer was trained properly by KTM this wouldn't have happened.

I'm surprised they replaced the engine to fix the leak as till now KTM insisted on rebuilding it.
If it was my bike I would insist on a new engine if it had that low milage too.

Glad it's all good now.

Other than the Offroad or Supermoto drive modes is the any other differences in the ADV and SD software
Only reason I`m asking is my bike has the ADV software installed and everything appears to be fine, I`m not into "Backing it in" so its always in Sport.
