Guys, I've been pouring of posts from different forums until my head hurts! I'm trying to gain a understanding of what I need vs. don't need. Let's start with SAS removal....

Most kits I see for the 1290 include a dongle to disable the SAS. Rottweiler also includes a dongle for the canister valve. Other kits do not. Is the canister vavle dongle really needed? Those of you who didn't use the Rottweiller kit, what did you do to disable the canister valve? Did you get a fi light on until it was disabled?

Are the fuel dongles enough if I were to add a cat delete pipe and a airbox kit, or do I also need to budget for a pc5? Do I even need the fuel dongles if I get a pc5?

If I opt not to get a pc5, How do I go about getting/loading maps? Must I have a dealer/tuner install the maps or can my friend load them via his laptop and obd II cable? My last bike was a triumph Street Triple R. He was able to load maps using TuneECU. Will TuneECU work on the 1290?

My bike is U.S. spec. My riding takes me anywhere between sea level to 4K feet.
