Looks like KTM have a display at the Long Beach IMS this year.

First time in recent memory (I an getting older) that they've had a display. Looking forward to checking out the 2013 RC8R, 500 EXC and with a bit of luck, the new SD-R (not holding my breath on the last one).

Anyone else from the LA area going?

Not sure if the res is good enough but KTM are located just North of Triumph.

I might be there Saturday. I'm stuck between spending the money on a ticket+gas or heading to GMR all day

KTM didn't show up to the IMS in San Mateo. Probably because the weather turned to massive shit.

All in all pretty good show. All of the manufacturers were there...including KTM. Better showing than the last few years I have to say.

The 2013 RC8R is looking real good. The only updates I can see they've made are a slipper clutch and BNGs. Didn't get a chance to read all the specs but that one jumped out at me ($1000 less in mods required v the 2012). Not sure about the choice of Conti Attacks though (easily replaced regardless). The 500exc looked pretty damn good as well. Trying to determine which is calling my name louder (can't justify both).

Not sure if I can wait on the SD (or if I'd even like it if I did wait).

Goddamit, why can't I have what I want when I want it....fook!

Same MSRP - $16,499

Don't know about the 500exc being the smart man's money though. $9500 for a fooking dirt bike ($10,800 OTD). By the time I get done with suspension, motor and other required mods I'm looking at close to $14K. Still want one though. Nothing like a dirt bike with a plate.

I'm hoping next year to get a 500. I miss my 07' 540bbk. I'm gonna throw some 17''s on it.
