What would the police do to you if they caught you with a flip plate fitted? Not even in use, just fitted? I had a copper check my bike for one once. I was talking with his m8 who stopped me but he was having a damned good check.

I'm pretty sure the penaltys for just having a flip up plate are severe.

If everything with the no plate was standard could the police do nothing if you had not been caught using the flip up.
Some of them are advertized for show use only.
I have a couple of doubts regarding the flip up,could they still be read from above when activated, afterall the camera on the van is located higher up than the no plate and also helicopters, but to be honest if the copters after you you aintgot much hope.
Going back to my 6 points ive already got and my 93 in a 50 pending im just gunna av to hope for a short ban and a reasonable fine.
Can anybody just confirm what happens to my points after my ban is served,do they start again at zero or would i get banned again if i was caught

The points
you had still stand, or did in my case. They just banned me, no extra points. I already had 6 at that point.
When my ban of 6 weeks was over I still had the 6 points so still had to very careful.
Good luck.

My memory tells me that somewhere I read that being caught with flip-up plates is very dimly looked on by the law. I believe that it is considered far, far worse than traffic violation, I think it's "perverting the course of justice" or something and can carry a custodial sentence. Superdan would know. Just not worth it. Ride with your eyes more wide open and look out for the cameras!

Just picked up on this, yeah as Bic says if you rode past a van for example and flipped your plate that is peverting the course of justice if caught, possible custodial for someone that has a job but if you didn't have a job a slap on the wrist
