Loosing a SD owner due to a crappy dealer

We are loosing JoeBear (only posted a couple times) as a Superduke owner. A couple months ago he was out for a short ride and his oil light came on. He pulled over checked the oil level and determined it was ok so he road the few miles home. He was due for a major service so he took it to our closest KTM dealer about an hour away, Santa Barbara Motorsports, and had them do the oil change and valve adjustment it was due. They told him that one of the filter screens was a little clogged and that might have been why the light was on. Then the problems really began. First off they charged him $300 dollars more than they charged me for the exact same service a couple years ago and they didn't bother to checkout the bike to make sure everything was ok. So after getting the bike home he decided to go for a quick ride and of course after only a few minutes his oil light came back on. He took the bike back to the dealer and told them the problem was back. After 2 weeks and several phone calls trying to get an update they said they called KTM to get an idea what the problem might be and were told it might be a bad impeller on the oil pump. And this being the worst KTM dealer on earth they have absolutely no spare parts for LC8 motors and have to order everything including any gaskets needed. So after more than a month of the bike being there after the initial 2 weeks just for a valve adjustment it still isn't fixed. He was finally so fed up he told them to make him an offer to buy the bike. They are going to buy it from him for what he owes and he is going to pick up a cheap bike in the mean time until he can find something else. On a good note he wants to buy a SDR (not the new one) so hopefully he will only be out of the club for a short time. A warning to anyone around Santa Barbara don't take your bike to SBM. They shouldn't even be allowed to work on KTM street bikes.

it's not the bikes fault the dealer is crap, why not take it to an independant mechanic?
