Hey anyone ever have their headers burn into their lower fairing. The one that covers the battery. It isnt bad, threw some washers on the back side to create some distance. Thought maybe this was a bit common due to the akro headers. Never had it happen on my regular SD. Thought maybe it was a SDR issue.

..assume they’re standard pipes and not aftermarket? It’s not a problem I’ve had with my SD, it’s not the R version though.

Does it still have the insulation pad inside?

Oil residue? How long have you had it? I can't imagine there too many of us R owners in NJ.

No it isnt oil residue it is most certainly a bit melted and burnt. I need to update my profile as I just got the bike. I moved to Sweden so I am not in NJ anymore sorry for the fake out. My original superduke was a standard 990 2008 model, all the essential mods done. It was the only thing I did not sell when I moved here as I planned on shipping it but when i went home for a visa paperwork, I was T boned at an intersection by a texting driver. Wrecked it. I thought I might never ride again or at best offroad/ ADV. That is until the local dealer got a 2010 SDR in with 10,000 on the clock. I put off going to see it for two weeks because I knew I would buy it. Went in, and fook walked out with it. My Fiancee is fookin thrilled as I my last accident was right after we met each other and she now hates bikes lol.
