"Decent deal" - ?

What does it matter - you own it, right? You and the seller agreed to a price, you purchased it = "decent deal".

Enjoy it.

Ton's of info on this site ...so you got some homework to do.

Contact the PO and see if he posted on this site, that will add to your history of the bike. We might know the bike.

KTM's hold their price value well, and can not compare to rice burners so ,ya, you did OK with your purchase.

KTM's DO need looked after, unlike rice burners.....so do your homework.

As for the de-badging....it's a used bike! What do you expect! Guess I don't under stand that comment.

Oh! You might need some thick skin to hang on this site. Just sayin'.

Good site none the less...welcome..........

Thank you for the welcome and the information. I love the bike and I'm very happy with it. I feel like the price was good for what I got. I don't know if I can find the original owner because I bought it from a dealership. However it seems like a bike was taken very very good care of there's not a scratch on it. Oh... My low fuel light turned on at 60 miles... Is that about normal? Seems a bit low.

SDnerd is right, but I would also say you got a great deal. I have an '07 as well. These bikes are undervalued in my opinion. Tons of info and great people on the site, and the general rule of "search first, ask questions later" is especially true here.

I love this place. Welcome.

"My low fuel light turned on at 60 miles... Is that about normal? Seems a bit low." How about 160?

Live with your bike a little more before you flood us with questions....or else you might get pegged a someone who need there hand held.

Heard of the warm hand syndrome? Spoon fed?

They tend to get side stepped on this site.

Chill a while and learn from others mistakes......

If the dealer said it does not have a scratch, and the side panels have no logos, then it has gone down. The dealer (or PO) replaced the panels and did not spring for the graphics.

Not a big worry, just check it all over.

I'd day that's entirely possible. It could have been down before. But from the past few days of putting a thousand coats of wax on it and cleaning every inch...I see absolutely no signs of damage anywhere. All of the bike is painted in that black with metallic flakes in it. Is that a stock color? I suppose the whole thing could have been painted? It seems to me like the PO was trying to make everything on it all black. Anything on this that can be black, is black. I'd love to find out if I got someone here's old bike so I can get more history on it. lol

Welcome, and post some pics.
Sounds like you may have the titanium colour they did on 05/06 bikes. Same as mine. Besides a black superduke decal on the side panels there's not much else to tell what it is. Stealth. I love it.

Here's a pic of it. It's hard to see the "glittery stuff" in the paint in the pic but, that's my new bike. I do love it.

I do love it. The front turn signals are LED's built into the hand guards. All of the paint on this is black with silver metallic glitter/flake, which also leads me to believe that the PO did have it repainted. I'm really happy with this bike!

I just realised that the lower belly pan does not look like what normally comes on this year bike. I'm finding tons of new little upgrades and stuff on this bike.

Your bike has definitely been resprayed as it looks like both the tank and the front mudguard are gloss and these are satin finish and raw black abs respectively as standard. Scott's damper is a valuable asset, looks like you got a good one there.

I've never seen this bike before on e forum, it's not been in the 'what have you done to you bike today' and you would think that if the PO was on here they would have posted pics with all the mods they have done. But some people at quiet members and keep to themselves more. They obviously knew about Motohooligan products and that belly pan is more frequently found for sale when searching ebay for Superduke parts. I think that it's highly unlikely that this is a bike was just built up from a crash to sell. You don't put parts like this has on for that.

The swing arm has been painted too (well most of it) - it was silver on the '07 model, black afterwards.

SDRSteveH, it is the same as your belly pan, but in gloss black. Cool either way.

TimR, this is a silver swingarm, check the inside of the left side it's still silver, this has covers applied.

Key thing is quentinludwig is happy, the bike may has been refreshed, and I think most of us agree it looks good.

That has had some money spent on it.

Some other stuff thats not been listed on it, from what I can see:
Moto/Rott box
Ergo seat
Moto(?) heel guards

Bic, the front fender is carbon.

SD05/TimR the swing arm is painted, look at the ends

It looks like a cherished bike there fella, I'd say you got a good deal, given all the extras on it.

haha. 11 bikes and this is the first steering dampener I've ever had. It makes riding really easy.

I've had about 12 bikes in the last 10 years including Speed Triple, FZ9, FZ8, monster 1100...and this is the first bike on which I'm seriously considering a steering damper, just feels like above 150km/h it's just a tank slapper waiting to happen! The front is light and unstable on the slightest bumps...it's all fun until something goes wrong
