Need to build a basic tool kit - what jobs for roadside?

I have searched this and have a list of the full tool kit that comes with SD990 (but I don't have one on mine).

I want to put together a very slimmed down set of tools for dealing with the most likely things whilst out riding.
She is very well maintained, not commuted but I will tour on her next year.

For the everyday (occasional use) these are the jobs I can think off,

Removing panels - for access to oil tank & battery
Removing headlight - change builds
Removing indicator/rear light lens - change bulbs
Adjust handlebars, levers, mirrors etc.
Puncture repair kit

When touring,
Adjust chain tension
Remove brake pads.

Can you think of any other jobs that I might find I'd need to deal with, or could deal with there and then rather calling the recovery service?

I think you have it well covered.

Not sure if they are available in the U.K. but here, in the USA, Cruz Tools sells a comprehensive metric kit for bikers.

Thanks for the link. I'm a "build it myself" sort of guy but it has given me ideas, such as I know a man who gets custom axle wrenches made up (laser cut) so I'll be asking him about a front & rear combo spanner.

I've had my Sd for ten years now and do all the work on it myself except for valve checks occasionally.

Can't be really sure but in all these years, in every situation I've needed a tool kit at the side of the road, all I've ever needed is the three allen keys, (of which probably 80% is done with one of them), and the T bar with the three most used plug-on sockets.

But if you just buy the full KTM toolkit from e bay it's so small it just fits under the seat and then you can just about rebuild the whole bike at the side of the road.

Personally I find the factory tool set to be quite good.
It tackles all of the jobs you mention.

The KTM Orange tool kit ( In the box ) is also excellent.
