Not that we as taxpayers in the US have any shortage revenue abuses to bitch about, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be a UK taxpayer.

Well, that couldn't have been much further off the mark ... Then again, it's been almost a decade since this bike was first shown with promise of production (in the US). The first Nortons in CA are finally being delivered as I type this. They are 100% sold, but I was invited to have a look ... Which I think I'll do.
