I've just done another oil & filter change and happened to check the Repair Manual instead of the Owners Manual and was surprised to find a couple of differences.
Any Idea which is right?

Item................................Repair Manual............Owners Manual

Oil Tank Drain bolt..............25Nm.......................20Nm
Engine Drain bolt................35Nm.......................20Nm

TBH I think the Repair Manual is over the top here. The sump bolt didn't mind 35Nm but I think 20Nm would have been fine.. but I didn't going beyond 20Nm on the tank drain bolt.

I noticed the same discrepancy a few years back when doing the first oil change on my 990... I used my judgement, which is more than could be said for one of the bike’s previous owners - the oil tank drain thread had been over-tightened and yielded and never sealed satisfactorily. Fortunately for me, when I bought another 990 as a track bike it came with a spare oil tank that had a good thread on the drain hole so I swapped the tanks. I’d already raided it for the oil level sight tube as my road bike’s had split at both ends...
