Hey guys,

I'm going to the Spa track in a few weeks and I can borrow a Go-Pro for a session or two.
I wondered if there are any mounting tips for the cam since I'd love to be able to see the dashboard with a front faced view.

Since there will be a lot of guys out here using cameras I'd say post a picture of you cam on your SD(R) and post the video of that camera position in the same post so it's easy for future camera bikes to set this up.

For the GoPro the best is the chest mount:

It gives this angle:

you can then get it fixed to other parts of the bike with the glued supports on the side etc

I bought a handlebar accessory which peers over the screen, and you could reverse it and film that big grin on yer face

Chest mount is no good for track as when you re on straights all you will see is tank, and doubtfull they will let you use it anyway.

Buy or borrow the seatpost clamp and attach to the handlebars, you can also attach it to the R&G frame sliders, water pump pipe also, but if all you have is two session just go for the handlebar.

From a viewers point of view, I like the helmet side mount. Preferable the loud handle side to see throttle action. It keeps the view of the track or road in the view the rider sees. When you mount a camera solid to a bike and get on a track with lots of transition, it can be e-nuf to get ya sea sick. It's not really the view the rider sees.
Ever see a Cheeta run after it's prey? It's head floats at a constant level and it's eyes are dialed on to it's target.

Steady Eddie.

I'm going to play around with an arduino and the giro board so i may have a cheap giro cam mount for snowboarding and the SD, i'll post a vid if it works out.

Superdan may be right about the track position, on the road and supermoto trackdays my friends use it with good results.

I have a drift hd camera ( different shape and more streamline in the helmet ) and got the mount over the helmet

And at that position looks like this:

I would put a little bit lower but the air vent won't allow it

Will post a pic of the bracket later but I like this position. I've stuck the clippy bracket thing on the plastic bit of trim that stands behind/above the radiator filler cap. It looks like its not going to work and it does get hot. But it's out of my way and I get to have a bit of my bike in the shots. I've done twenty-odd sessions at Sepang with this set up and it's still holding fast.

Got a little Muvi micro dv recorder..
A while back I mounted it to the bars..
Sooo much noise I almost threw the results away..
The stills were...interesting...

At my last trackday, played around with these 3 gopro setups and happy with angles

This one is from a mount I stuck under the R&G tailtidy license plate bracket. Don't have a photo on hand of the set up right now, but you can see the shadow of the camera in this shot under the duckbill.

Also tried using a butt cam in the past on my ebay cowl, but I need to figure out a more secure way to lock in the cowl to handle the weight of the camera.

Just received a Drift HD and mounted per the picture. Like the out of the way location and there is no shake in the video. Question for other Drift users...what editing software are you using? Using iMovie seems to limit export to others for viewing. Using .m4v the videos are good, but in .avi they are crap...unwatchable!! Thanks
