Let's see you transport a 5 gallon gas can on your SuperDuke !
My SAAB is under the weather with FI grumblings so I used 3X bike tie downs to strap the lawn gas can to my luggage rack I made.
Worked great, did not even feel it back there.
Did get some looks and extra space in traffic thou.

Bad bits:
1. the bars feel as though they are kinked up at the ends - makes the grip feel a bit weird after a while.
2. the saddle is weird: not uncomfortable as such just a bit odd to settle into
however all that pales into insignificance:
This is a fantastic bike! The motor initially feels smooth and fairly strong but it really rewards full throttle and high revs - then it really goes.
2nd gear wheelies off the throttle ALL the time. Mirror, signal, pull out and hoist one
Handling in Sport mode is excellent.
All in all a top bike.
and WAY quicker than an SDR.

Well, as for why all the horse power needed ? We camp / live off these bikes, and carry babes too. And travel. Got a trip planned in September to the KTM Rally in Co. Six state ride. Yea Man! As many back roads as we have time for in two weeks and three weekends. They are heavy ?? 950 with out gas 440 ??Not much heaver than a KLR, but deff not a KLR.
So., yea, you might see some Adventure bikes that do not get used as intended, but I am here to tell you nay sayers, these bikes are getting used as designed for and I am damn glad I have one I live in a place that I can make FULL USE of their intent, thank you very much.
Goggle LoLo motorway as for examples of places we / I travel to and thru.
