Proper throttle grip?

So I have what is probably a really simple and dumb question. The SDR (990) is my first modern high power street bike. Most of my time is on dirt bikes and vintage street bikes. I've just recently started going to my local track, 2 trips now. What I've noticed is that I have a hard time applying full throttle to the SDR because I run out of wrist rotation. I've been thinking about this and would like to know if there is a proper technique? I don't have this problem on my dirt bike (300XC 2 stroke), I think because smoothness is so much less of a priority which makes it easy to regrip the throttle really fast when I need to. On the track if I hold the grip in the position that gives me good control of initial opening through midrange I find that I end up in this uncomfortable elbow down position when trying to apply full throttle. So what's the trick? Get used to riding with my wrist cocked up at closed throttle? Do you open your hand a little and roll the throttle back that way? Thanks for any input. I really want to make the jump from really slow to just pretty slow, and I think more throttle will help!

There are different throttle cams available that will help this situation. they make a progressive cam that gives less throttle at the beginning and slopes to more wider sooner. They are available through KTM power parts. If memory serves me they are called throttle tamers.

The product Dribb is referring to is the RC8-R Progressive Twist Throttle Kit (I believe that's what is called).

G2 Also make a kit which an arrange of cams can be fitted, can't remember which is the preferred though (50 rings a bell)

Thanks, I actually already have the KTM progressive throttle on it. It helped a ton with smoothing out the jerky throttle that these bikes are famous for. It didn't however change the degrees of rotation from closed to wide open. Unless I'm mistaken both the stock and progressive throttle tube are 1/4 turn right? What I'm having trouble with is getting that last little bit of rotation to the throttle stop without having to put my arm in a weird position to get there.
