There's a petition going around over her to attempt to protect motorsports venues from being closed down. The following text is the preamble from the mate of a guy I work with:

"Dear Friends
As you are probably aware there are few motor sport venues still operating in Queensland and these are under threat from the NIMBYs (Not In My Back Yard) who insist on building new properties or moving to existing properties close to these venues knowing full well there will be noise and traffic. Once they have moved in they then petition government to close the venues as they do not like them. They knew before hand so should not be allowed to spoil the enjoyment of many thousands of others. The road safety mantra “Race on the track NOT on the Road” is meaningless if we have no tracks within our area.

Please follow the link and add your name to the petition and if I am not asking too much please forward this email to all the motor sport fans on your mailing list and any others you may think would be sympathetic to our cause
