Restricting the power 2005 990 for import to France

I want to get my bike registered in France, to do this I need to confirm it's no more than 106hp.

How would I go about restricting it? Can it be done with the ECU ?

I'm guessing I'd need a printout from a dyno to show sub 106hp too?

You are not allowed more than 106HP?

Can't you just load a tuneEcu map with the rev limit set at 7k, do a Dyno run, and then switch back to your current map?

What was the KTM official spec for the equivalent of yours sold in France?

I hope my response is wrong.

If I am right, I am sorry to say you have a problem.

Part of getting your bike registered in France is you providing the Certificate of Conformity (CoC). The KTM issued CoC states your BHP is 118. OK you say lets get the bike restricted. The French are not too happy accepting later added parts even if KTM provided and documented and showing BHP restricted.

Next. The French have now removed the BHP limit, but only on Euro 3 bikes, yours is Euro 2. Plus the removal of the French BHP restriction is only applicable to bikes with ABS brakes.

Euro 2 kills your plans as does lack of ABS.

If someone can provide a more pleasing answer other than get a Euro 3 bike with ABS, I too would love to hear it

Sorry to read this post.It sounds like there may be nom answer to this.

But on a lighter note - in ten years of coming to this forum this is genuinely the first time I've ever read a request for information about how to make LESS power and not more performance!
