In case anyone else in the US has Riders, want to warn you that they are a bunch of greedy bastards.
They reclassified the Super Duke from a standard bike to a sport/high performance bike.
Raising my insurance from $122 per year to $775.
They were the best deal around to insure this bike, now they are one of the most expensive.
So, my SD will be traded or sold by the end of the month, as I won't pay that much to insure it.
My favorite bike, I'm going to miss it.

Tried them when I bought the bike, they wanted $525 for six months.
Had to LC4 insured with them for years for cheap tho.
Progressive's website quoted me $90/ year for the LC4 and SD together.
My wife is going to call them tomorrow, I'm working on a site far from cell service.
If I can't get reasonable insurance I'll trade it on a Super Tenere.
I've been looking at them, but thought I'd keep the Super Duke just because I like it so much.

State Farm said I'm too much of a liability to insure, lmao. I can't even recall the name of the company I'm with now. None of the big companies would take me or were thousands of dollars. Good luck with your search man

My insurance carrier is currently Foremost Insurance, covering both bikes. My renewal coming up in September was going to be $2300/yr. Checked with Allstate since my house and car were covered through them as well. Quote was $580/yr. Full coverage.
Didn't get the uninsured/underinsured motorist. Lots of discounts applied.

I don't even know what insurance would be on the 1290
If I have to pay $500+ a year to insure a fast bike I'll just be out of the fast bike business.
Guess I'm a higher risk than the cruiser fags here that ride bar to bar and do burnouts in the middle of US50.

Don't have theft coverage now, deductible is $1K.
I just feel that a $600+ increase is nothing more than robbery.
The insurance on my $35K truck isn't this much.

Mine is the faster, black model.
It's not leaving the herd right now, mounted new Dunlop Q3s and they ride nice.
