been having the usual low down niggles with the superduke r , jerky on off throttle , even had the idle hanging resulting in the occaisional roundabout run ons. funny for those following not for me though!
had enough so sent the bike to track electronics at rackheath for frontal labotamy.!
there they switched off the sas system and the o2 sensors and loaded a custom map on the stock ecu.
liked the idea of the rottweiler air box but did not want the extra noise akra's are loud enough.
initial results were not brilliant.the popping on the overrun was a lot worse even popping on gear changes like that of a quick shifter. and the idle started to really hover at about 3000 rpm...... lots of head scratching.
back to the shop . even though the sas was switched off it was still connected so a few cable ties and some marbles up the pipes to see if the problem was there ...... back out and no popping on the overrun at all but idle was still hovering not all the time but would do it when you were least expecting it ....twat.
so next step sas removal and plates fitted. air box off and lots of wd squirted on the idle control linkages. back on and tried again....NOW the ktm is frikken awesome low down throttle response is perfect no problems holding balanced throttle at any rpm.infinately more responsive and no popping on the overrun which I do miss but was more concerned about getting the bike running proper.!! posting this in case anyone out there is having similar probs. part of the problem from what I can make out was an sas system which was still bleeding air even though it was disconnected. must have been doing this even when it was working which may have been why it was super snatchy low down. any way bike sorted..track electronics ,give them a look they are the nuts.!!
hope this helps

A good sign that you have worn exhaust gaskets or loose exhaust bolts is that you remove SAS and still get some popping. I would recommend this to anyone that has aftermarket cans on (without catalytic converter)

popping has totally gone after fitting sas plates.
nothing wrong with exhaust gaskets .
the r comes with akro headers fitted from factory

glad you got it sorted what i found is that even with the sas turned off it would still pop on decel then fitted a marble in the hose from airbox to sas valve and all good.
But then I ended up putting sas plates to get rid of all the crap .
