I've had a bit of a search already but there isn't a lot of info apart from them being a bit of a hassle to fit. They appear to be mounted to the motor rather than the frame. I understand this would alleviate the potential to bend the frame which is a good thing, but does anyone have a view on how this system would affect the motor? I'm a bit leery about the whole thing seeing as KTM is pretty much avoiding the whole issue and voiding warranties etc, but I Really would like something. I don't mind the GSG ones either though they look weak as piss and still bolt to the frame, though I think with that shape the load would be deflected somewhat rather than punching the frame.

My theory has always been you put crash knobs on if you have full insurance. They save having to pay excess on small things, but if you have a decent crash they will probably contribute to writing the bike off.
They are there for the garage drop, the low side etc. Any decent crash/higher speed high side will probably bend frame or cause more damage with the crash knobs.
I have the bike fully insured and have fitted a full set of crash knobs etc for those early mornings moving the bike when your half asleep
