Silly newbie question - dyno!

If I have my bike dyno'd what results should I request for future comparison? I know I'll get a nice printout with rpm, bhp, etc. but should they supply anything else?

Comrade: There is no such thing as a Silly Newbie Question.

Your dyno charts should provide you with everything you need. They will have small summaries about Max HP, Torque Etc. Ultimately, what you be comparing are parts of the charts against that same part of the chart for the old one. What you will be looking at is related to what you are trying to achieve. So for example, if you were tuning to try to get more torque in the mid-range then that's what you'd be focused on. The only slight complication with dyno tuning is that results can be slightly different on different days due to factors such as air temperature Etc. Different dyno's can produce very different results so it is best to try to be consistent about which dyno you use.

jmann - thanks for the reassurance, guidance and pointers (really appreciated).

Looking at my post again don't think I provided enough detail behind the question. So here goes..

- totally standard bike.
- plan on doing a few mods.
- before I start would like a baseline, so plan to get the standard bike dyno'd (will try to maintain same dyno etc. for future comparison).
- ideally I'd like the dyno results in not just a printed sheet but also a data file so I can load into a programme for future comparison/analysis (I've been looking at this forum and smt and kevxtx seems to use WinPEP Data Center - don't think you can get this free but is there an alternative?).
- can I ask for a data file for the dyno results and if so what program is needed on my pc to load the data file?
- when future mods are implemented and the bike dyno's again if I can get the data file for the results it's just a case of importing and overlaying to get an easy comparison.

Is this possible?

Thanks
