Looks like the rumors were true.

You can now only park at the look out and only for 1 hour between 6am and 9pm, I'd love to know how they're gonna enforce the hour time limit when people make runs and take breaks there multiple times a day.

Sadly the squids (bike and car) have ruined Malibu...

I don't see how limiting parking to the one area to one hour (difficult to enforce....) and not allowing stopping elsewhere is really going to slow things down a lot there. Months ago when I was out there I said to an officer parked at the official lot "looks like you are letting people go fast enough to lean it over hard and really accelerate coming out of the last turn" and he replied "as long as they are not getting real high in speed, are staying on their side, and under control....."

There have been a lot of "crackdowns" over the decades. Folks who want to have a little fun in the canyons will still be able to. That one sections is not the only great set of turns, never has been, has always been dangerous to let it hang out a bit, especially with the number or riders running it, and is mainly for attention seekers. The restrictions are hardly a great loss, IMO. But then, what do I know, I only started riding that area 35 years ago....

I only go thereto spectate and drink a beer or two.

If I wanna get some riding done in Malibu I hit Latigo, Stunt, Kanan, lots of other less exploited roads in the immediate area.

I'm normally at GMR or ACH anyways.
