Solved my Superduke 'touring' issue...

So, we've had the debarcles, we've had the messing about, the accepted offers, the discussions, the bids..

Today i was once again running though insurance stuff along with considering the good/bad points of many many machines, the pluses the minuses of them all.

I finally settled on this... A ZX6-R. Partly because it's comfy, quick, light and great handling. With a big enough screen to be happy for a tour and nimble enough to throw about. Lastly, it's quick enough to hold the pace of the quicker bikes with decent riders... (Although the uber fast boys will still crucify me on the Thous)..

I had one once upon a time but it was just after quitting racing and i was a bit of a nutter and found it a touch slow... But i also had one as a recent track bike last year and loved it at Mallory as you can ride it 'hard' without being insanely quick... get the power on, without being 180mph...

The only things i can fault it on are the footrests, which i can easily sort and the fact it's not green, which all Kwaks should really be !!!

Really looking forward to picking up at the w/e

My 1986 Ninja 600R was a blast to ride. Bought it with 300 miles on it for $2400. Sold it with 86,000 for $1400. Fun bike / times. Most weeks saw 130-140 on the speedo. Row that shiffter and hunt down the litre bikes, 2 up.

Maybe your idea of touring and Grendel's are completely different. Grendel wakes up in the morning, gets chow, loads up the bike and heads out with his buddies for about 400 +- miles of twisties. When he gets from point A to point B, he unloads his bike. Gets chow and beer. Bench races with his buddies about the bone headed things they did in the last 400 miles. Gets tired, goes to bed, and repeats in the morning.

This is the perfect activity for a SD unless you are two up.

It's OK SD.net ers

We convinced him to cancel the deal on the Kwak and take the SD instead.
