I have a Kreiga US-10 on the tail and its really good. I keep a roll of tools, hat, tee shirt, clear shield in it most all the time and still have room for a decent amount of other items. For extended trips I would need something bigger or multiple bags which is where this system would really shine. For a day trip the US-10 is all you need.

I built a frame out of some thin scrap steel that holds an Icon tank bag which is pretty huge. I took two flat steel pieces, about 3/4" wide by 6-8" long and drilled a hole so they bolt on the rear most rear fairing attachment point under the seat near the lock. These protrude over the taillight and then a wide cross member attaches with two bolts using wing nuts for ease of accessing to remove the seat. The cross member has rails and a front cross member that resides at the front of the passenger area of the seat. Essentially it's a square frame to support the edges of the bag while the bulk of it is carried on the passenger seat.

I think it would be hard to beat the KTM tank bag which is expandable. Expanded it can carry 18 cans of beer. Relatively easy to detach the base using straps, and the bag zips off easily for refueling.

The bike is so comfortable, I spent a lot of time coming up with luggage options for long rides to far away twisty roads.

Here's a pic of the protruding attachment points. I'll get some of the frame and bag in a bit. The saddlebags are Triumph with custom passenger peg attachment points. Probably the best mod I've done to this bike, just makes it a tight fit when packing it in the garage with two other bikes with saddlebags.

I'm into Marsee bags. Use a 11 litre" Rocket Pocket" expandable tank bag, with a four quick release strap base. Also use a magnetic base 15 litre "Ovalution" tank bag with it's base pad hook and looped to the seat, use a Rokstrap to secure it. Just unzip both from their bases and go. Can't get new ones, anymore. Have purchased 7 of them over the last two years from California mainly. Also have Kreiga 10 litre and 20 litre US bags. But using them everyday is not as convenient as top zip bags. Both are top quality kit, Kreigas are waterproof. Usually pay $50 to 70 for the Marsee tank bags. Three of them, were good as new.

I'm planning a 3-4 day trip in a few weeks with my father-in-law and a few others, so trying to get everything in order. I had a set of Cortech saddlebags and tail bag I used a few times on various other bikes, but was concerned about the under tail exhaust and heat. I decided to just build some brackets using the passenger peg mounts to help give a little breathing room between the bags and Akras. I think they turned out really well. I'll report back after our trip, but should work great!

I'm working on a write up for them, but Hot Brakes kinda gave the basic run down.

My trip is coming up at the end of the month. (labour Day weekend) I can't wait!
