After 2 1/2 years owning a Superduke (orange, naturally) I am trading it in for a VFR 1200. I am planning doing more touring, so a fairing, screen and fixed panniers will be useful. Over the last few years I have regularly visited this forum for advice and tips. I haven't posted much myself but have read many posts and picked up a load of really useful information here. So thanks to you all. It's like a family, Superduke owenership.

Out of all the bikes Ive owned over the years, the SD has been my favourite, and by far the coolest. But Im getting on a bit now and an looking for something more grown up.

Good luck to you all, you should appreciate what a great, mad, fun, cool, sporty (and orange) bike you own.

p.s. The SD has to be the best bike for cornering ever. I love the way it just tips in effortlesly. It's like it actual enjoys cornering itself!

Good luck. My SD has taught me how to ride and corner properly, to the point where I just recently paid $900+ on one single fine in California...! From a fellow scouser missing home.

But in all seriousness, enjoy the new motor. I had a blast on my 800 V-tec one, so the bigger motor should be a hoot.

A horse of a different colour, still a horse.
Enjoy the easy escapism of a true sport tourer. Many revolutions away from you in a state full of orangeness, I'll squeeze a glass and toast to your Rubber Soul.
Good Luck.

Man I'm the same age as you but I'm the young 56.
It struck me the other day that when you look around at all the other bike brands on offer the SD actually looks like a mans bike and sounds like it to with a set of cans where a lot of the other nakeds look a bit girly the most girly would be the Ducati Monster.
Sorry getting off the subject lol! But a change is as good as a holiday and it's still 2 wheels so your not that old. If you said that you were getting a Volvo now then I would be disappointed
