So it turns out searching this forum with key words really can save you a lot of time and $$$ if you just do some solid searching in the correct pages and use the wealth of knowledge available here. Story is a couple of days ago i took my SD 990R out for a spin and somehow it had woken up in a bad mood and made riding it nothing short of annoying. It stalled twice under deceleration, once chattering the rear and restarting before i knew what was happening and the other an easy stall coming up to stop lights. Even up changes were awkward and the idle was all wrong. All in all it just felt wrong no matter what i did (for a bit i thought it was me causing it ). So long story short after some searching on here, as quite a few of you would have already guessed by now, the Clutch Switch was to blame!! The night before i had adjusted the handlebars and had obviously put the rocker arm out of alignment. To be honest i didn't even know it had a clutch switch until i read it here.
So thankfully now she is back to her awesome self, the cursing has stopped and i'm back in love with her. Celebrating not having to take it to a bike shop for repairs with some beers tonight. Life with a big KTM twin is good again!! Thanks guys.

good to hear , Its amazing what problems a little strip of metal can cause.... I think it is overlooked in many cases thinking there is something more sinister causing our problems
