16/40 used to get me to about indicated 144 so 16/41 must be around 140.

17/41 no idea but there is a gearing calculator on internet :

Yes and the subtract for wheel slippage... I'm telling you guy's top speed realistic is 127 mph.

Hmmmm. Think I may have to run the 17/41 then as the top speed drop and fuel economy may be a bit to drastic for trip planned.

Is it spring yet?

I'm running 16/40 and mine hits the limiter in 6th @ 233 km (9800rpm)
17/41 should give a higher top speed than 16/40
Sd speedo is indeed on the front wheel, so no slippage. It will probably be a little positive, but i doubt it will overread 30 km or more.

The speed will actually be a little higher than the calculated gearing number due to centrifugal force increasing the tyres circumference at high speed

Its pussy gearing for a 1000cc V twin anyway........ My old TLs is just peaking out in 4th at 140mph and thats with lowered gearing, a crest in the road and a hard shift into 5th will still get the front up
