We DON'T on-sell personal details

Comrades: One of the perennial problems we have with new members and registration is that they are reticent to provide personal details because they think we might nick their bike or on-sell their details for profit. As all of you should know, we don't do that and thus nobody should have received spam Etc. as a consequence of providing their details at registration. We only use these details to try to avoid giving membership to the types of people that the potential new members are worried about. Indeed, I often ring people (from Australia at my own expense) and if they don't pick up or something looks fishy then I don't register them.

It would be useful if some of our existing members could respond to this post and just confirm that Superduke.Net does not engage in on-selling so that guest users will see the post before registration. A response from both long-termers and new members would be equally useful. Just say something like "It's true".

Well, it's true. Its this and the lack of advertising makes this one of the best website around

It's very true. We don't sell anything (products or information). Just trade, swap and beg for bike parts.
The knowledge and advice regarding how to repair your bike is free.
You are welcome.

It is true that I do not know what the hell "on-sell" means and therefore will attest to none of it happening on this site that I know of.
I do look for items on sale but I think this means something completely different.

I was one of those people that "hooo'd and haaa'd about giving personal details. I even thought about it for almost a month and then just gave in and took a chance.
I have had absolutely no issues with this forum, no advertising and no junk mail in my inbox. Go for it. You will not regret it.

This site is blissfully advertising free (apart from discounted items for forum members posted in the appropriate location), and protective of members' details.

When someone from outside the community tried to takeover the site and monetise it - the members fought back!

The slightly difficult entry procedure is well worth the protection for this spam free haven on the interwebs.

I think the KTM RFS forum does something similar to this as well. I dont know why people get so up-in-arms over it

I'm a new member, in fact this is my 1st post , and can confirm no details have been passed on. It does seem a bit more complicated to join than many places but I only see that as a good thing.

As a Systems Administrator I'm pretty concerned about privacy and protection of personal details.

I wouldn't be be an admin/mod here if there was anything shady going on.

We like to keep this forum ad free, not very many people are on the up and up about how intrusive ads can be. They can track your web browsing from site to site, collect cookies (meta data) and report geographical location data via your ip address or proxy.

The other thing that makes this forum unique is even though we are ad free we do not collect member dues to support the forum.

So you will not be solicited by us or for us via ads stealing personal information.
