What tyres are you running these days?

After getting stranded 50 miles from home in the Columbia River Gorge on Monday, and shelling out $220 bucks for a tow, I'm in the market for a new set of tyres.

I put about 4000 miles on my Pilot Power 3's, which were my first tyres after the OEM fitted ones. (I knew they were near the end of their life, but thought I could get 1 more day out of them). The PP's were fine. I think I liked them a little better than the OEM tyres, but its hard for me to remember how those performed. I do mostly spirited day rides, commuting, and 2-4 day motocamping trips through the mountains/forests. I live in the pacific northwestern US, where it is often wet. I don't do track days. What are you guys running these days, and do you like them?

Are you on a 990 or 1290?

I run Conti Road Attacks on my 990 road bike - they're quite adequate in wet conditions and I've had no issues in the dry. My only complaint is that the rear has squared-off quite a bit, despite me having an almost compulsive aversion to riding on dual carriageways and motorways. Maybe a newer dual compound rear would improve that.

I run M7RRs on my 1290. Performance, it goes without saying, is outstanding. But they are remarkably resistant to squaring off. Much better than the OE Dunlops.
I had them on my SMT and even went touring on them with full luggage. They were excellent. I must have been through six or seven sets now on two bikes and I've never had a rear with a shoulder on it by the end of its life.

Absolutely fantastic.
I've used M7RR's as well previously ( not on a Super Duke ) which are also Fantastic, but I am expecting a lot more mileage out of the 01's
The rounded profile of 01's means that you will not notice so much any difference if they square off.
Compared with PR4's which are more pointy in profile (more like a sports tyre) but as they square off you get more of a cliff edge to roll across.

Motorrad Test Center prepared a report on some tyres. (Commissioned by Michelin so not sure how impartial it was) but the results were :-
Dry: 1st Power RS,
joint 2nd S21
joint 2nd Attack 3's
4th Rosso III's,
5th M7RR,
6th Sportsmart II's

Wet: 1st M7RR,
Rosso III,
S21,
Power RS,
Attack 3's,
Sportsmart II's

So depends if you think any tyre is good enough in the dry and focus on wet performance or not.
Sorry not sure how to attach documents.

Michelin Pilot Power 1s. Seem to heat up pretty quickly and give decent grip in dry and wet. Doesn't tend to be much feedback before they let go though...

I've been running Dunlop Roadsmart II's for a long time now. The only time they let me down was at a B group pace at a track day.

I run a Pilot Road 4 rear and Pilot power 3 front. Have so far done 12,000km on them with probably at least another 4-5000km left
As a comparison I got 20,000km from a PR4 set on my old Blackbird.
Aim to replace current set with PR4's only.

I'm running Bridgestone S21s. Really happy with them. Replacing my first set with another set next week. I got 6,000 miles out of them. I rode 2 track days, lots of local riding and some touring.
