After some advice. I'm riding to Austria through the alps for the motogp this year. What do people do for luggage on the SDR 990? any tips/help is much appreciated!

Yeah that's right, the single seat job. That's what makes it awkward! Are you handy with a welder? If you do knock something up then do you fancy doing one for me as well if I give you some dosh?

Tag along if you fancy it. We were looking at that KTM package as well but the grandstand is on the inside of the track and I don't think there is a big screen in view. We've got tickets for the north grandstand now.

Our plan....

Go through the tunnel Tue night and stay just the other side of Calais that night.

Wed we have a grim ride through France to get to chur in Switzerland. All about covering the miles so the next day we can enjoy the ride

Thur... The alps!

Motogp Fri, sat, Sun (head off for a 3hr ride after the race to take some of the pressure of milleage and time)

Mon ride through south Germany and the black forest region which looks amazing

Tue.... Back home!

I go away camping for a week or so on a single seat 990. Use a KTM tank bag, a Kriega tail pack and about four bungee cords to hold on a tent, mattress and sleeping bag roll. It all holds together quite well but you wouldn't want to be unpacking anything quickly or frequently from the rear end as once it's all attached it's hard to access. I sometimes also use a Kriega backpack for additional stuff.
