when I did mine I didn't have any issues with the alarm LED being on... though the dash was completely non-functional when the alarm connector wasn't wired up.

Perhaps you have the two wires crossed? Logically, there are 3 ways you can wire up the 2-pin alarm connector. Correctly (as I had it), not at all (dash no-worky), or crossed. Then again I suppose you may have used the wrong wires to connect the alarm....

on your new loom there is a small square plug that looks similar to the indicator plugs, that is where the external temp sensor plugs in.

have you tried plugging the alarm connectors together yet?

Coming from the clocks, it's the 2 pin connector containing the blue/red wire. And like I mentioned before, the side coming from the bike's main loom should be down in between the hinges. The two connectors probably won't be the same shape/type.

You mentioned you know the two wires I'm on about, but you didn't say which side (clocks loom, or main loom) you meant, so apologies for repeating myself

the 2 pin connector that leads from pin 17 on the main block - with the blue/red cable - is that plugged into a connector that is located right between the hinges of the mask on the end some pretty short wires? i.e. you couldn't pull it further out to fiddle with?

Ok i have just taken the clocks of yet again the wire comes out of the clocks like you say and goes in to this plug it plug in to the left hand side then that goes of in the main loom

all the wires from the main clock plug are plugged in i have no lose or spare wires at the back in the mask

hmmm...bizarre... I wont' be able to get into my bike to look/take photos to compare with yourself and David, who both seem to have that plug in the same place. Maybe mine was removed/came loose from the mounting shown in the photo, and is now where I keep describing it (in between the hinges!)

Then again maybe it's a different plug altogether. Mysterious....

I won't be able to get at my bike until next weds I'm afraid....
