I like lights. I like light. One aspect of the Superduke that I have not been able to build a solution to is the lack of mounting points for auxillary lighting.

I'll let the pics do the talking after a brief summary. The lights I used are $20 from Wal-Mart or Autozone, Advanced, etc. Any place with a bunch of junk Chinese chrome rice burner crap you'd see on some highschoolers POS Acura. I have them mounted on the VFR and they have been in use for 4 years now and 35k miles. A couple bulbs have been replaced, but otherwise these lights have been great. They greatly enhance the low beam's intensity and fill in the darkness between the beam and the bike. If any thing they allow the identification of the animal you just hit. During the day the lights provide conspicuity and a larger profile for motorists to see you. These lights do need to be pointed at a somewhat downward angle and preferably away from oncoming traffic unless you like people highbeaming you all the time. They're bright...

Haven't had an opportunity to use them after dark, but based on the thousands of miles I've had them in use on the VFR these lights should be a huge improvement.

Mounting was simple using a close fitting rubber plug to the inside diameter of the frame sliders from the hardware store. Run a bolt through it with a special nut that has little grooves on the bottom to grip the rubber. Put the bolt through the light bracket, sink it through a small predrilled hole in the rubber stopper, put the nut on, and snug it up a bit. Place the assembled pieces inside the frame slider and tighten. The bolt will cause the stopper to expand and fit tightly. Mount up the light and run a bunch of wires everywhere with some zipties and enjoy a brighter world. I had no issues with movement of the mounts during an aggressive 400 mile ride the other day. Nobody pulled out if front of me either.

Total cost was about $24 for lights and hardware. Approximately 2 hours to install and figure out wiring. I'm running them off the Battery Tender SAE connection on the battery. The auxillary power wires looked a bit teeny compared to the wiring provided with the lights, as is the fuse.
