Bent shift lever linkage--how to fix?

Took a spill last week. 2008 990 SD. Damage mostly minor except it appears the tabs holding shift linkage have been bent in toward swingarm vs linkage being parallel to same. NAh, as they're cast, straightening them at the very least will fatigue them.

Personally i'd take it off, replace with another used one that's straight. It's likely your frame/mounts are fine, just the footrest assembly that's bent.

I did that on my Super Duke, but bent the rear brake pedal. I was told not to try to straighten it as it would probably break, so I replaced it.
