Everyone recommends the small, light weight Shorai battery. Is there a good place to get a good deal on line? Anyone had a recent good find?
Thanks.

The dealer replaced it with a different brand and he does not sell Shorai anymore as to many have come back with problems.

I've bought two batteries (the last one just two days ago so it hasn't arrived yet) from 303-cycle from Colorado.
The guy's name is David, very nice and helpful. Would do all my "customs forms shenanigans" (lowered invoice, "electric lawn mower battery" in the description) and he is the cheapest I've found for these batteries that's willing to do the above (and was nice enough to match the price to an ebay seller that sold for 190$ shipped).
LFX18A1-BS12 including USPS priority shipping to Israel - 190$.

I did ring the dealer and had a long chat with him and also to check whether this was the right battery model as I don't trust website guides that much and didn't want to order and get the wrong one delivered.
What I was told was this amongst other things. The replacement battery terminals are very near the same place as the standard battery if you use the foam packing correctly. I was worried that if the battery was smaller I would have trouble connecting all the leads to the terminals - there are a lot of them and with not much additional length to play with.
You cannot use a conventional trickle charger, (like and Optimate), with a Shorai battery because many of them have an electronic programme that reverses the polarity for a time to help revive conventional batteries - this would effectively destroy a Shorai. That is why it is also OK to charge a Shorai with a conventional charger - as long as it is only a simple one and not electronic with diagnostic ability.
He advised that if there is a constant drain on the battery in storage - which there is on my SD because of the alarm - then I would need to get the Shorai trickle charger because if you every run a Shorai flat is is ruined, you cannot revive them. Not sure if this is just a good sales message to sell chargers but I din't want to take the risk and it makes sense to have the ability to trickle charge as I cannot get out and ride as much and often as I used to.

But..
Until It's been out a while and revised..
I'll stick with what I have...
It's on a trickle charger and works ..
I ride every other weekend and sometimes
every weekend..maybe work n back in between..
I'm good to go..
For now...

need to get a new battery.
As I understand everyone uses Shorai LFX18A1-BS12
If manual says - 12V 11.2Ah, can I use this 18Ah battery? SD 2006
It won't damage bike somehow?
