Sorry if in the wrong section , but will ask anyway , if you buy something from the states how do you stand on import tax etc as looking to buy a Power commander 111 fron there , any advice as the price for the uk looks good even with the delivery .

If its brand new then you will have to pay VAT on the price. Generally if it comes through the post then the Post Office then they charge a fee of about £20 for handling it as well. It still used to be worth it when it was a ration of 2:1 but its not so good now. Theres also the issue if the good are faulty in having to send them back. Ive done it a few times but not recently.
If its a 2ns hand part then Im not to sure on if VAT is due. Hopefully someone else will know as Ive just bought some 2nd hand exhausts from the US.

Coullstar , thanks for the reply - as you say may well not be worth it now as the extra costs make it on par with the uk now.
