So I am making a wind screen...a..er.... for my Triumph Tiger...It's got a bad wind buffet that I am trying to smooth out. I made a temp backing from ...DougFir and bondo to the shape I want. I will lay fiberglass over that to make my wind screen. It's real low so I don't need to see thru it.

What I need help with is the black dye to add to the epoxy mix. I saw this fake out techinique years ago in a bike maginize but it's lost in my gray matter somewhere. What I do remember is that the results were usable.

Test rode a 04 KTM Adventure today to replace my Triumph Tiger. Tiger has one smooth motor but more top heavy than the KTM. Was getting the feel of the KTM Adventure, look at the spedo and it was in the 80's.. Crap.... 55 mph zone....I did like the big Katoom. Jumped back on my SD and oh what a motor my 08 SD has,and it felt like a mini-bike compared to the Big Katoom...info to dream on tonight.

Use some gel-coat coloring agent to mix in with the resin. It won't give the same results tho as the glass is white and will be slightly visible. Skinning with CF would give you what you want. Make the piece as nice as you can in glass and then skin with carbon and clear epoxy.

Black Big Katoom..non S...$6.5K...23K smiles....very clean and stock except AKO cans and custom seat.. a tall wind screen that made me want to barf looking thru the distorted plastic. Another bike with huge wind buffet pain in the neck. Stock hard bags, tank bag, and rear top case. Real nice un molested bike...verrrry tempting.....trying to hold out for the orange and blue striking color combo...New models coming out next year...me thinks bling bling riders will have to have the latest and greatest gizzmo thingy ..so that should leave me with more in the herd to cut out the best stock...but this is one nice bird in hand...gezzzzz

Oh..I did see the ADV thread last week or so...LC8 transplant....omygod....Along with the carbon fiber tutoral...nice..

LC8 in CL 40 miles away from me...crash damage.....was dreaming of LC8 Adventure / Desert Sled...damn near went to have a look.

I think the LC8, 2011 is still up for grabs $7K Salem Oregon CragsList

Well Drip.. my English bike is up for grabs! One smooth, electric motor...It's calling you....It will help keep the miles down on your KTM! Oh so cush...Hard bags! 40K smiles..even has Kartoom SE bars with heated Oury grips. Ready for coast to coast travel..just did 2K trip in February... now to finish that wind screen...
