When mounting LED flashers/indicators on your bike, you will need a new flasher relay. Otherwise it will flash too fast, like a stroboscope. It looks stupid when it's flashing so fast, that persons suffering under epilepsi gets attacks..

I bought my bike used and the previously owner had mounted LED flashers, but did'nt take the time to mount a new flash relay. So I had to do it my self. Since I used some time to investigate, check the wiring diagramme, use a voltmeter etc. I thought I could help save some other n00bs time

This is on a 2005 model, not sure if it's the same on the 2007+ models.

First you need to buy a new flasher relay! I contacted my KTM dealer, and he sent me a Rizoma relay.

Then you have to loosen the 2 screws at the top of the headlight mask, and tip the mask down.. Now we need to find the original flasher relay.

The orange wire its the negative - and the orange with black stripe is positive +

Now you need to take the Rizoma plug apart. I could'nt get the original KTM wiring plug mounted in the rizoma plug. So I used a small flat screwdriver and took it apart:

You can see that I've fitted some "scrinck flex" on the black wire, while the brown is still without isolation on the wire. You need to do this if you take the plug apart because otherwise, the wires will touch each other.

Wires are now mounted in the wiring loom on the bike:

I used some electrical tape to make sure the wires stay in the plug. And I also mounted the cables on the new flasher relay:

The green wire mounted on G (on the relay) is ground. I mounted it in the back, as you can see. Black wire (that goes from the orange with black stripe) is on P, brown on the last, as you can see here:

So now everything works. Flashers work like they should etc.. NICE

Sorry for the bad grammar etc, feel free to edit the text, and also correct me, if I mounted something wrong etc..

I controlled the signal speed of my LED signals with Rizoma resistors, but they get very hot and placing them where they wouldn't damage surrounding components was a pain. They flash at the correct speed, but I think this approach is much better.
