Hey guys I stripped the paint off my 1290's exhaust heat shield and gave it a brushed finish but would like for it to have the same bronzing color of the exhaust. I know it will darken just a bit with a few heat cycles since stripping the paint. But since it has the heat space between the exhaust and the heat shield, it won't get as hot so it won't bronze as much. I'm curious if a blow torch held on the back side a bit away would cause the same bronzing the exhaust is experiencing? Or if anyone knows a better or proper way to accomplish this?

I only have a butane torch, the small one for doing the shrink tubing for electrical. Do you think that would work? By the way, I love the bluing on even Harley headers near the top that Harley guys can't stand!
