Had a set of Givi's and rack from the KLR650.
Thought... I bet those would fit on the SD!
The top bolts lined up with the exhaust fittings - I have the Graves Aftermarket pipes so there's a "R" fitting in there from the subframe.
Had to use the bolts that came with the KLR rack but the size and thread pitch was exactly the same.
The rear bar married up to the other side ok but the sides needed to be cut down to attach to the rear pegs...
Had at them (After I measured twice, took deep breaths and got the saw out!)
Heated the end with a blow torch for 10 mins and then hammered them flat... Drilled out a hole so it could be bolted to the rear peg...
Sanded, smoothed the edges and painted them in Bedliner paint... looks OEM! You can't tell they were cut or made for a different model.
Not sure why Givi doesn't make this for the SD.
I know it's not everyone's idea of a bag for the Duke, but I've ready plenty of posts where riders are looking for a solution, so... hope it helps!?

Awesome! I made brackets for Triumph bags and love it. This looks even more stable than mine though with two solid mounting points. This redefines sport-touring, dragging bags, knees, and wheelies!
Next project I think is a BMW tail rack.

Yep! - Can't beat this bike with side bags.
I don't see why you must live by the "Rules" laid out by the manufacture's. Absolutely no reason why you can't use the Duke as a semi touring bike.

I really like that. Which rack system is it?
Who would have guessed that it could have been so simple?
The twenty ones are the smallest and least costly of the GIVI's and the fit the line of the bike real good. Better than on a KLR. In fact they look sort of gay on a KLR.
Tooth brush in one side and credit card in the other and your off.

That Masonite siding is not going to hold up in WV. There have been manufacture failures and warrenty replacement in Ca. If it is composite crap, keep a close watch and hold the builder accountable.

Very much liking this! Do they only make one rack for the KLR? If not, can you give us a link to the one you're using?
