I have just .......er.......... the mrs has just got me a suprise birthday present......

G2 Throttle with .25 cam (Bless).....it says on the site you have to make changes with a dremel

I am going to Almeria in September so I might have to fit it out there....can it be done with a Stanly if need be?

What do I have to change ?

How long did it take to come?

Thanks in advance

If you unbolt your throttle housing you'll see just a couple of thin plastic tabs going across the width of the housing, you just need to chop these out, I imagine there might be other ways of doing it but if it was me I'd get it done now while you're waiting for the throttle to arive and then you'll only have to adjust the cables while you're in almeria if you don't have time to do it between the throttle arriving and you dropping the bike off for shipping.

If you ordered it direct from G2 then I usually allow at least 3 weeks for shipping from the US.

I did it to mine and they are not plastic. It's metal and part of the cast housing. You will need to dremel before you go

I have a .50 in already but It's not thatmuch quicker.

I want a quickerer one and the .25 is now the object of my desires*

Where could I obtain a thing of such beauty?

This could be the way out Pete

...as the .25 shop bought cam is anodised ...it is technically Bling

I have had one of these lying around for a year or so but not fitted it as I thought it would be too brutal, (running the 50 currently). But more of you seem to be having a go so I will fit mine tomorrow and see what it's like. If I don't like it I will maybe put it up for auction

Ive had the 0.25 in for ages and ive gotta be honest, it aint much better than the 0.50

The 0.25 just makes the throttle how the bike should leave the factory IMHO!!!

If i was you Pete id try and modify the 0.50 by glueing something flat to the cam to take up more slack!

I'm not too keen on DIY inside the throttle housing fella.

If something goes wrong and it sticks it's not nice.

I quite fancy one of these.

Can anyone give me a bit more info. Would a 50 cam reduce throttle travel to full opening by much? How does it compare to the 25, is there much in it? I want to shorten the travel for track so I don't have that hand wriggle to wind it from full closed to full open out the tight hairpins.

How much would this affect small throttle openings? I like to wheelie and obv need to use fine tiny adjustment to keep it up at the balance point. I don't want to ruin this.

Would the cam fit with the standard throttle or do I have to buy a G2 tube too?

It's cool. Managed to find the cheap option pikey thread. Posted on that.

It wasn't until I looked at Nigel's .25 throttle and compared it to mine that I realised that I've had a .025 throttle all these years!
I'm wiht Bash on this: all SDs should have a 1/4 turn throttle as standard.

Anyone have any experience with using the .25 on the track? This is my only hangup on the quicker action. Seems like you could get into a lot of trouble gasing in and out of corners. The rear end will slip out with the standard throttle if leaned over hard while hard on the gas.

I meant to get a .25 for Jerez but I'm a bit late now as the bike goes tomorrow.

Over winter I think.

Another happy customer. But I'll add this...I had to shave a lot more than the throttle stop in the housing. Basically the entire lower half of the throttle housing had to be shaved.

...same here......I thought I was just unlucky........Looks like this is standard

To be honest ...it’s a great bit of kit.....but you really should not have physically alter a new piece of kit to get it to fit......when its manufactured by the same company.....and let’s face it a sticking throttle is no laughing matter

.....right someone chuck my Teddy back please
