Hi all,
Had a quick look at the rear brake calipper on my 2005 SD 990, and the only way I can think of to remove it, is to remove the axle of the rear wheel. Is that the case?
I couldn't see any other bolts to remove it. I'd like to change the pads and clean the pistons, as I know it hasn't been done for some time.
Front brake is no problem, but the REAR I am having some issues with.
Please help,
Thanks in advance.

Mackie. Yes, just remove the back wheel and the calliper drops off.

Thanks bic!
I thought that was the case. The manual only explains how to change the break pads, but the caliper is fixed to the rear axle...not the best design ihmo, but it will do.
