How do you get the pics to show up like that? I couldn't work it out.

If you are posting from a site like Photobucket them copy/paste the info by cursor in this pic. Just paste straight in no need to put any code round it here.

Hey Smoky,

Thanks for the advice on relays. Got me thinking I should fit it. Found this link which explains the relay and wiring much better than the Stebel fitting instructions. A guide for dummies but it was good for me.

What I did was add an additional 20 amp fuse between the battery and the relay which should cope with the extra draw but left the original fuse as a 10amp because it covers a few other things other than the horn button - (like the dash etc.) - and I guess this is OK for the button to operate the relay switch as the big power isn't going through it any more. It's like the link says - it's really two circuits that you're wiring in.

Thanks for the thread mate. I had to get one after a driver didnt even react the other day. Now he's gonna know about it lol

I had some trouble with the wiring to start with as I ordered a wiring harness and that just lead me astray!

Anyway it's working now and I have a 30A fuse on the horn side. The horn is installed on the right side just above the chain and seems to fit well. Will have to see how it goes in the rain.

Oh and that link from the other guy has a much better diagram on how to connect it all than that italian attempt of instruction.

Now to start the next mod.

After I fitted this horn I got paranoid about it melting cos the compressor is so near the front cylinder header so I wrapped it in heat shielding. So far I've done about 500 miles both in traffic and motorways and it seems to be absolutely fine. Compressor REALLY furs up with winter salt so give it a big does of ACF50.

Red box is the relay that comes with the horn. It only just fits under the belly pan.

Nice work there bicknell!

I wondered what it ended up looking like.

Here's a photo of mine from a recent ride so no zooming in. It fits there like a glove. 3 zip ties and you're away!

Had to do some more mods to stop water building up near the power terminals. And I'm not sure if water will end up getting in the blow out. Might have to get some screen fitted to it to minimize it.

I also want hardwood floors in my garage!!

Nice job, especially after you heat shielded it. I've been contemplating one of those horns too... do drivers get dumber and dumber these days?!?

That's not my garage - it's the living room!! I have a big open plan warehouse and a very tolerant partner. No garage, I'm in London and not a millionaire and it's too cold to work outside so the SD lives inside while I'm doing my winter mods.

The click you're hearing is the solenoid working.

First thing to check is battery health. When I fitted mine I was also fitting a different tail light and indicators and I'd spent so much time testing connections and lights that there wasn't enough juice left in the battery to operate the horn.

If that isn't the problem you could try swapping the terminals over on the horn.

If you have a spare battery, (or some long leads like jump cables), try connecting direct from the battery to the horn - at least that way you'll know if the horn actually works or is damaged.

Just wanted to say how much I love my nautilus!

I use it sparingly and have to remind myself not to toot my mates on the street in case they jump

I love the fact people look around whet I honk and then see little old me on a bike!

Guys do we know if the SD horn button is wired negative or positive? Need to know this to know which way to wire the Stebel Nautilus relay in.
