I just invested US$8 and came up with this solution to stop my tank-bag from moving around.
If/when I decide to remove it, the glue should come off with Goo Gone or denatured alcohol.
Mold - Materials
From Harbor Freight
Installed - The right side I tried to cut it with my Miter saw that's why it's uneven. Since it's going to be under the tank bag I did not think it was necessary to cut it perfect. The left side I cut with an ordinary box cutter and a straight edge.
Simple. I've not ridden with it installed but I think it's going to get the job done.

UPDATE: Well, That didn't work at all.
Yesterday I went for a birthday ride with a SuperDuke 1290 buddy of mine and he actually rode his 1200 Multistrada (oh my, the horror). We had a friggin blast. He's told me several times he feels more comfortable on the Multi than on his 1290 and it showed. I had ridden with him on his 1290 and as fast as that bike is supposed to be, he was riding it more conservatively than the Ducati. Maybe he has too much respect for the HP and f/lb that the SD puts out. But man, yesterday he was wheeling out of every corner, 100+ mph on every straight. Great fun was had by all.
But to the point of this post, my tank bag was sliding all over the place. At some point we stopped for gas and I had to turn the bars to the left all the way and the bag stopped me from it. So once I got home, I removed the bag, removed the tank pads and cleaned everything with GooGone and the rubber pads left no residue at all.
Today, I gave the bike a good wash and Plexus polish and protect, and I put her back under her new Dowco cover.
Now I have to find a bag that attaches to the fuel cap opening or tail bag or something different. I have the KTM tank bag but it's huge and inhibits the view of the clocks.
