Hi guys

I've booked in at snetterton tomorrow and just realised they have reduced the db limit to 102db from 105db

I'm sure last time I was there it was a touch over 102db with baffles in. Im thinking about taking some gaffa tape to wrap the baffles if I'm a bit over do you reckon that'll be enough to get me through?

It's an 05 sd with round akro's on it. I'm sure I was over 102 last year so need to do something..... Any ideas kids? Bearing in mind I'm working tonight so only time I've got is tomorrow morning before the noise test!

Cheers

Matt

My round Akra's test between 101 & 104db depending on the ambient temp. You should be under 102 with db eaters in. Who's the TDO?

Shove a brillo pad in one of them and hope it doesn't fire out when you rev it! Or if he says 5k rpm try and get away with 4700-4800rpm?

It's with no limits...

I'm currently thinking try it and then if fails gaffa round the baffles.

I do have a loose connection in my headlight mask still. So re counter can be prompted into being very erratic. Might work to my favour for once!

Mine does seem to vary a bit as well hoping it'll come out quiet tomorrow...

Mine with the old akras was 105 without and dropped to 98 with baffles in. You might be ok.

Get it right hot and shoot for 4800 to be safe.

Ive been waiting since October to ride a bike when it's not commuting I'm really looking forward to first decent ride this year.

Cheers for that Viking I didn't know that about hot and quiet!
It's a good track fun to ride and a really nice new surface.

I'm still at work and have to be at snetterton in 9.5 hours and I've still gotta get home sleep and pack van in the morning! Sleepy me tomorrow morning I think.

Well had a cracking day..

It was a bit chilly but dry all day. Temperature was a little low and there were a lot of crashes in all groups loads of highsides coming out of corners. Did make me realise I should take it a bit easy so just spent today getting used to riding on track again. Last few sessions was riding quite well.it's a really fun track just need to get my balls up on the faster corners a bit.

The bike went through at a 100db without me doing anything. Very odd.

Really fun day out and glad I went. Need a few more days to get myself going properly though.

Viking I did warm the bike up and the noise difference is noticeable.

Baffles IN you should easily make that limit everytime mate.

Glad you had a good time. Sticky race rubber just doesn't work as well in those temps, I'm not suprised a few got caught out.

Snett used to be one of my favourite tracks, I have yet to ride the new configuration.

The better halfs tested at 98db baffles out with no limits last year at cadwell..... That's with round akra's on an 08 model sd....... They now have a db meter on the pit straight at snet which from memory is set to 97 for driveby but you should be fine with that......

Just realised this info is too late!!!! Glad you enjoyed your day.....
