Well it's already happened but I thought I'd do a thread as I'm waiting for Eurosport coverage to watch it and wanted to preempt someone stating a thread with "Marquez/Lorenzo wins!" as the title. Really looking forward to the race, hope its a cracker! No FB or Internet for me for the next hour.

I was up at the minus two cracks to dawn and I can tell you that It was worth the lost shut eye and was better than a cup of coffee as an eye opener at that early hour.
I am happy with the outcome overall and look forward to next year.

Great first half, respect to Lorenzo for his tactics - he should have kept it up, might have worked.

I could not help but feel that as the season winded down to two manufacturer battle, the riders would have been awarded for good behaviour in helping their respective makes out. This left alliances in the form of an overwhelming Honda scenario due to the fact that the non factory Yamaha riders have not been racing for much more than staying on the track all the way to the end of the race. Jorge did all that he could and I too wondered if his early tactics may have displaced with new ones too early. He certainly wasnt get help from race craft by other Yamahas.

A good wrap up to the season. It's too bad the points weren't closer between 99 & 93, would have made for harder racing and a lot more push. Personally I can't wait to see how things shape up for next season.

Jorge won more races, but the double collar bone phase proved his undoing.
Gone are the days when Rossi can be relied on to be a factor in a race like todays.

As you Brits would say, I'm well chuffed. The kid did good. You could tell by the way he was riding he had some butterflies. He was definitely more reserved than normal. And his lines were not as smooth as normal. But, he got the job done in class A style. I thought his conceding second without a fight to Pedrosa was a definite sign that he has matured a lot this year.
As for the change between the first half and second half of the race, I think Lorenzo realised it wasn't going to work because it was becoming too dangerous and he was in the fight alone. If it had gone on, I think he would have been penalized or Pedrosa would have taken him out. Also, jousting with Pedrosa was one thing, but if the kid would have taken both of them (Marquez and Lorenzo) out, the kid would still have the championship.

Lorenzo really is the complete motorcycle racer. Fast, smooth, gutsy and smart. He almost retook the lead from Pedrosa at will today. He was in complete control. He's also not adverse to get a little dirty if the need arises.
This bodes well for MotoGP for the forseeable future. Lorenzo has many good years left and Marquez is only beginning, not to mention the hard chargers coming through from the lower classes.
On another note, Rossi is clearly suffering from early onset dementia, and with this latest bad decision, will fade faster than ever. JB can now concentrate on bringing through the next Doohan or Stoner.

JB's going home to Adelaide farm to retire....He's certainly earned that right. What a career! The only questionable thing was his comment regarding Stoner and the Ducati. Obviously Stoner was right in the end.

That was one incredible race for the first 12 laps....had me on the edge of my seat and as dribble said, no coffee needed!
Jorge has proven himself to be the best rider but the superior Honda with an almost equal talent was just too much to overcome. Come'on 2014!
