I think he is curious as to what happened in the last lap at germany. Why stoner went down. They didnt exactly explain a whole lot when it aired. I myself was left wondering what happened.

Probably a slight lapse of concentration as he was thinking up excuses and someone else to blame for Pedrosa winning.

It looked like he ran a bit deeper than Pedro and maybe his bollocks were dangling in his eyes at the time.....

Anyway nil points and now he is whinging that the marshalls didnt help him get back in the race. I never saw him make any effort to get back in the race anyway and he was on the back of a scooter in the next shot of the BBC coverage.

Only bad bit for me is that it leaves the even more despicable Whoregay still leading the championship.

It would be easy to say that in today's super- competitive motor racing one needs to have a personality and mind set that allows you to focus on the only thing that matters. TO WIN. And that this often deprives us of people who have any sort of other redeeming personality. Take Michael Shumacker for instance.

But every time I think through the unlikable racers who miss out on being respected for anything other than their riding ability I also remember the racers who were entertaining and engaging and watchable. The future of Moto GP is dependent on more than Alien riders on cutting edge technology? They ar,e running out of money to do it and sponsorship is key to running a team.

I was a sponsor I 'd want a bit of both in the teams and riders that I - talent and charisma.

Stoner doesn't make too many bad decisions when racing, but last lap at Germany was definately a biggie. He was a mile ahead of Lorenzo, bugger all chance of passing Pedrosa, but still pushing to win like a green kid.

Backing off and taking second was the proper stratergy and being in the championship lead coming into some of his favorite tracks, but a rush of blood puts him in third.

It would appear the new chassis has gone some way to reducing the chatter problems for the Hondas.

Does anyone know what made Lorenzo so uncompetitive at Germany. I think thats been the biggest gap all season between him and the Hondas.

Lorenzo had to run the hard tyre for fears of the soft delaminating like it did to Spies and Rossi the week before. He wanted to run the soft and blames Bridgestone for his pace. Anyway we have strayed off the Stoner thread to Lorenzo, then to Rossi now back to Lorenzo so we are likely to piss Maddog off again.

Looked to me like he just ran out of rubber that late in the race.

I hear he's a winger. But I see that up and down the paddock except Rossi who's real quick witted at manipulating the spotlight on and off him at will. Cheeky bugger. Max Biaggi carries that #1 plate for whinning.

Where does Casey post his whines? Whining aside, I think he did a brilliant job when riding that Ducati but *he* took a lot of heat for not being on the podium. He's getting some redemption now that Rossi's doing terrible with it. But not everyone's willing to give him that break. It is true then that we like or dislike at an emotional level and pick datapoints to rationalize.

Casey on that Repsol bike reminds me on Mick Doohan (anyone remember him) when he gets things right. Wish he were more gritty, calculating and didn't hit the gravel, finished his run in the series on the absolute top.

Agree w/ all the comments on Whoregay! Can't stand his shennanigans.
Cheers.

drab olive green for life but the inside of its mouth is black. It is a different colour to the Green Mamba which is the same green as those horrid wheels you had and the Samantha Mumba which is black all over but pink inside

Very cool. Can you bend enough to ride it?
Show us a stop action of a warm up stoppie.
Someones a Stoner Fan.
I hope he wins the championship this year.
I posted this question mark the day after he decided to chase down Dani on the last lap to try and score the race win. Only to tuck the front and walk away with a goose egg.
It seemed to me that he just wants to win what he thinks he can and chapionship be damned.
Course, hindsind being 20/20 he wishes now he reigned in that emotion and took the 20.
I have to admire that competitve spirit. Better than a safe and boring existance.
Still it did not help and I hope he adds just enough forthought to catch up to grasp the brass ring.
Jorge broke the lap record at Laguna Seca twelve seconds after Casey. It was quite spectacular.

I was contemplating this very thing of riders riding safe all the time to finish and win the championship...
I was thinking the introduction of a tennis style rule that wins count more than points.
If you finish the year with 2 or more wins, or such, than anybody else, then you win the championship.
Bring back the win or bin racer to revitalise an ailing sport.

It would be magic to see Casey just pull back 5 points from jorge every remaining race.

Just a slow and painfull erosion of jorge's pride.

I read that Casey turned down a 15 million dollar offer from Honda to ride in 2013 , more than they have ever offered for any rider / driver (F1)
His father (manager) said he would have taken it but Casey is addiment that he is retiring from the sport.

Had it not been for the Indianapolis crash I don`t think Lorenzo would have been celebrating at Phillip Island.

Good for him. Perhaps he'll pick up a job in retail or go after a degree in the IT field, after a vacation of course. Then vanish. And probably won't even spectate at Philip Island races...

He'll be back. When Mick Doohan interviewed him and asked about coming back to motorcycles after a few years break, Stoner had a grin from ear to ear.

He also said later that he loves Phillip Island too much to never ride a bike around it ever again.

In an interview with an aussie motorsport show a while back, he said the ONLY reason he was leaving was the direction Dorna was taking the sport. He disagrees with their decision to introduce a control ecu to moto gp bikes to make them more like the moto 2 machines. He wants to race proto types, not superbikes.

It speaks volumes when Honda offered him more money than they have ever offered any other driver/rider, and refused to take Rossi back.

Colonel_Klinck

Colonel_Klinck

I doubt Honda have forgotten how Rossi left them. They certainly made him see out everyday of his contract so he didn't get as much testing on the Yam. Him not going back there means nothing.

I also think he will be back. He's still really young and I'm sure a year or two away and he will be gagging to get back on a GP bike again.
