Well, I raced on the weekend and didn't have as good as a result as I would have liked.
The day started with my shifter breaking and dropping me out of the first qualifiying, but I knew from the one lap that I completed that my body wasn't up to the task.
My left leg and shoulder are still recovering from my road mishap with Scam66.
I tried to get the leg flexing and moving as much as possible but it turns out that I was unable to maintain a good race pace.
I fixed the shifter (second GP shift that I've had fail) and managed a rusty 67s and qualified 11th. This was D grade so I wanted to be sure of what everyone would do the first race, so I didn't nail it off the line, but by the third race I was 3rd out of turn one.
Unfortunately 66s are not fast enough, I needed to be running 62s to win, it must have been so frustrating for the other guys tring to pass me as I just tried to make myself like a moving road block but I had to pretty much squid around the track.
Finished 5th, 5th, and 4th in my class and 9th, 8th, and 6th over all.
Hard to tell because I wasn't going fast enough but the bike felt amazing! No headshake and wanting to turn on a dime. That being said there is stil 6mm of front tyre unused so that is a good indicator of how slow I was going.
I head off to the surgeon on Monday for the final word... I hope it's good as I am feeling really confident in the bike at the moment.
I didn't get race three as I filled up the card but did get race one (3 hours away) and the start of two.

Nice, don't know about moving road block, you were smooth and predictable enough to overtake, I think the guys behind you probably just werent able to keep up.

Still a decent pace though dude for someone whos not 100% healthy!!!

Riding with injuries is a way of life for some of us though and it is a limiting factor trying to move round the bike with bits aching and throbing!!!

If the riders behind you were that much quicker they could have had you on the brakes or out of the corners and down the straights - fact is they didnt (very often)

Just out of interest where did you end up with your front end in the Nichols clamp and front sag setting?

I was running the forks flat with the top of the clamp and the rear as standard. front comp was at 10 clicks and sag was 28mm static front.

The whole reason for the Nichols I discovered was from going to different profile track slick eg, Michelin Power slick...
Normal tyres:
120/70 180/55

A profile of:
84mm / 99mm

Power Slicks:
120/60 190/69

A profile of:
72mm / 131mm

A change of:
-12mm/+32mm

A total of 44mm bias to the front! Nichols flat gives us 24-26mm so still 20mm from the rear...
I was unable to push the bike going into corners but it felt very good and no sign of the headshake from the round before.

I'm trying to find out edge figures to see how different this makes a bike on lean, but it did feel planted but I was going slow, would love to really stick it in to it
