I love that donnington track ! Who's ridden it, make me jealous - tell me what's it like!

What's the go with Biaggi ? I was so glad to see Marco win the first race, I think he is a real talent who has made some poor team choices and had some bad luck in recent years. The WSB like BSB is just getting better and better.

Leon was slightly off the pace, but I recon he's the man to watch this season.

I've not ridden it yet but def one on the list of tracks to do. As for Biaggi someone needs to bitch slap him. He really can be a proper cock sometimes

Been through the gravel a few time's at Foggy Esse's,luckily managed to keep it upright.Compared to my local track (Cadwell park) Donnington is a very wide fast flowing circuit which i found suited my SDR,the only corner i had a slight problem with was Coppice my bike never really felt stable through it. Other than that it's a brill track wet or dry IMO,i have only done it twice though, I'd def go again

I rode there last year on the national just after the circuit reopened. As Ash pointed out, the national has a better flow about it, the GP loop adds 2 hairpins BUT also 2 drag races, and on a superduke you won't often finish 1st in the drag race! That said the chicane onto the loop is opened out a little now so there is a chance to carry more speed through there.

The circuit is great and Craner curves is much steeper in the flesh than on the telly. It's very fast down through there and if anything goes wrong the crash is going to be big.

My only reservation about the place on the superduke is the amount of corners that can be taken flat stick throttle. Great in that you're able to shoot through there quick but in a way I felt like I was just pointing the bike though. The lower gearing I now have may change that though.

Bombing down the Melbourne loop and being as late on the brake's as you dare before tipping into the hairpin is an experience, even Goddards off cambered left was always something i wanted to do after watching countless race's there and also on TV.
The front wheel coming up as you nail it down the straight under the Dunlop bridge (now gone) after hitting the bump, leaving the braking too late approaching the esse's trying to outdo some IL4's.
I fooked up my line's more than once pushing just a tad too far outside my comfort zone but i had a ball. The speed at which you enter Redgate still amaze's me,chucking it in and sailing round thinking your the bollocks as the race rockets stack up behind only to have them scream past on the exit and down Craner curve's,it's just one of those "must do" tracks.
As Ash say's it's expensive, but i just wanted to thrapp around the GP circuit, and for me that's the only one i'd ever consider doing. It truely is a awesome track steeped in history

How about we try and get together there later in the year then? It sucks in the wet so we need summer.

We can post a full report and make our Aussie brothers jealous. They can then get there own back by doing a Philip Island thread! (I would love to ride there.)

Never done it on the SD but it's a great track with some technical fiddly bits and some bottle testing parts as well.

I fornd the turn in for the first corner after the start finish straight the hardest bit ti get right, craner curves flat out on the K5 the most fun and the blind up hill right before the back straight the most satisfying to nail.

If you get the chance it's well worth a visit. The new track doesnt seem that much different to me which is probably a good thing
