I was considering getting these but then realised that they cost £29.99 each! I thought that was for both.

I wonder if they would do any good in a crash though. Dutch has some on his SDR.

I bought a set from this place,,,go to product overveiw,,, all they really are is "PEX TUBING" used in the heating industry for radiant floor heat,,, the kit I bought beats the R+G type in that if you do have a fall you can just "flip" them over with the scratched side faceing in,, the R+G"s, their fooked and just buy a new one,, been thinking of making some out of the "Pex" it's 40 USD for, 50ft, then you need some large hose clamps, and last some heat resistant backing to install around the pipe that the pex will then rest on,,,then something that cuts it clean,,,,,,as for the looks ,, I don't mind it at all,,never cared what anyone else thinks anyway,,,purposful,,,and saves 700 bucks on a re-placement end can,,,,

For the DIY ones don't use ordinary hose, it has to be heat proof

Just ordered some more stuff from R&G this weekend. They have a box you tick for shipping to the USA. The cost of shipping is more but then you pay 0% VAT so it works out about even. Result!!! Bloody love R&G.

I have them on m,ine. They're not pretty, but I don't mind the looks too much, and it's worth it for track days.

A large jubilee clip and some rubber hose will do the same job, but that def is ugly.

I'm doing a track day at Snett in June and fancy making some DIY protectors. So to the guys that have made these before, would the following work? :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1282wt_905

Its Silicone coolant hose that can withstand temps to up to 200C, so should be okay I'm guessing and maybe won't need any heatproof matting to go between the muffler and the hose assuming its flexible enough to go all the way around the Akra Evo muffler?

Also, does anyone know the diameter of the Jubilee clips required for Akra evos?
